"World Human Rights Day" in Bombay

Bombay: The Tibetans and their Indian supporters observed the World Human Rights Day and the 18th Anniversary of Awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama at a function jointly organised by Mumbai Tibetan Refugee Association, Dharma Rain Centre and Friends of Tibet. The public gathering was held at the Sharada Mangal Karyalaya Hall at Dadar on December 10, 2007 was inaugurated by Venerable Geshe Lhakdor, Official Translator of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. More than 300 Tibetans mostly composed of Tibetan sweater sellers and the Mumbai resident Tibetans, the refugees sang patriotic songs and danced in groups easily beguiling the pangs of living far away from home.

Aspi Mistry of Dharma Rain Centre, Tashi, President of Mumbai Tibetan Refugee Association, Rohit Singh, CA Kallianpur and Sethu Das of Friends of Tibet also spoke on the gathering. 'The World With Tibet' Campaign of Friends of Tibet was launched on this occasion by Venerable Geshe Lhaskdor.
