What is a "newsfeed"?
A newsfeed provides headlines and links back to a website for the full articles. You select which sites you want in your newsfeed.
What do I need to use a newsfeed?
You need a program called a news reader that displays newsfeeds from the websites you select. These readers are either a stand-alone program, or part of a web browser like Mozilla Firefox. A list of readers can be found on Yahoo.com or on Google.com.

What is rss and xml?
You will see these abbreviations associated with newsfeeds. You don't have to know anything about them to use the newsfeed.
rss is for Really Simple Syndication. It is the most popular kind of newsfeed. There are several versions of rss. The common ones used are version 0.91 and version 2.0.
xml is eXtended Markup Language. The file format for the newsfeed is usually in this format.
