‘Kundun’, which means ‘holy presence’ in Tibetan, is the story of Tenzin Gyatso, the fourteenth Dalai Lama of Tibet. The film by Martin Scorcese traces the incredible life story of the Dalai Lama, who had to take up the responsibilities of a breaking nation at the young age of fourteen, when Tibet was seeing the most difficult period of foreign occupation by the People's Republic of China. The boy Dalai Lama survived and today he is a symbol of world peace in exile.
