Kalon Tripa to Call on Ms Dobriansky

The Prime Minister of the Tibetan exile government is in Washington DC to meet Ms Paula Dobriansky, the US Special Coordinator for Tibet, it is learnt.
The meeting, which is the first between the two after the visit to China and Tibet of the envoys of His Holiness the Dalai Lama earlier in September, is scheduled on December 4, 2002.
Mr Lodi G Gyari, His Holiness the Dalai Lama's special envoy, who is based in Washington DC, will also join the meeting. The first elected head of the Tibetan cabinet had just returned to his headquarters after a visit to Europe last month when he addressed the European Parliament and met with the speaker of the British Parliament, members of All Party Parliamentary Group on Tibet as well as officials of the British Foreign Office. He also met with Special Envoy Lodi Gyari and Envoy Kelsang Gyalsten who were in London.
Prof Samdhong Rinpoche had earlier met with Ms Paula Dobriansky in New Delhi on the latter's halt in the Indian capital from a visit to Pakistan.
