Thuten Kesang Receives QSM

Thuten Kesang of Auckland, New Zealand has been awarded the
Queen's Service Medal (QSM) for Public Service in the 2002 New Years Honours.
The honours are the nation's way of saying thanks to the many men
and women whose efforts make New Zealand a better place to live in.
It is a recognition of the work Thuten has put in, not only for Tibet,
but also for the multicultural society in New Zealand.
He has twice been the President of the Auckland Multicultural Society,
he is on the Board of Asia Down Under which makes Asian news/documentaries,
Secretary/Treasurer of Dr Grahams' Homes NZ, Treasurer of Tibetan
Children Relief Society, National Chairman of Friends of Tibet NZ
and Honorary Secretary of the Liaison Office of Tibet, Chairman of
the Dalai Lama Trust NZ (to bring His Holiness to New Zealand),
has been on the committee of his tennis club and organised club
competitions for 3 years etc. Of course his whole focus is Tibet,
as you know.
