New Delhi:
The Delhi High Court today put an interim ban on the import
and marketing of Chinese make toy globes in India as they incorrectly
represented the country's map by not showing Jammu and Kashmir as part
of its territory.
A Bench comprising Chief Justice B C Patel and Justice B D Ahmed
directed the Government not to permit the circulation of Chinese make
globes in the market. The Bench observed that investigation by CBI
has pointed out that these toy globes depicting the Indian territory
incorrectly was being manufactured by four firms in China and Hong
Kong.
"We direct the customs officials not to permit the import of toy
globes depicting territory of India incorrectly," the Bench ordered.
Such toy globes could not be permitted to be circulated in the market
here, the Bench said in a direction to the government.
