Dalai Lama Calls on India's President
(Tibetan Review | September, 2002)

The Dalai Lama called on President APJ Abdul Kalam and Vice-president Bharion Singh Shekhawat of India on October 8, 2002 before leaving for Europe. The Dalai Lama was back from Bombay where he had flown for a medical routine medical check-up at the Leelawati Hospital. He was at Graz, Austria from Oct 12 to 23, mainly to deliver the Kalachakra initiation. He was back in New Delhi and was to inaugurate a stupa at Derah Dun the next day.
